1.Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate): Cialis and nitrates both lower blood pressure. Taking them together can cause a significant and potentially life-threatening drop in blood pressure (hypotension), leading to dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke. It is contraindicated to use Cialis with nitrates or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrites).
2.Alpha-blockers (e.g., prazosin, terazosin, tamsulosin): Both Cialis and alpha-blockers relax blood vessels, which can lead to excessive blood pressure reduction when used together. This may result in dizziness, fainting, or orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing). If needed, your doctor may adjust the dosage or recommend spacing the medications.
3.Other antihypertensive drugs (e.g., atenolol, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril): Cialis can enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effects of these medications. While this interaction is usually less severe than with nitrates or alpha-blockers, it can still cause dizziness or fainting in sensitive individuals. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended.

The drug industry is one that is creating a lot of money for the pharmaceutical industry.
A new drug, called Cialis, is now being sold in the US to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
But in a major setback for the industry, Pfizer said yesterday it had to withdraw the drug because it could be linked to a dangerous rise in deaths in the US.
Pfizer will not pay for the sale of the drug after the US Food and Drug Administration approved it for marketing in Europe and Asia.
A US court last week rejected Pfizer’s request that the drug be withdrawn.
Cialis, developed by Eli Lilly and Co., was approved for marketing in Europe and Asia in June.
It is now the first such drug to be marketed in the US, said its maker, which says the drug was the first drug for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
The drug is sold under the trade name Viagra.
AstraZeneca said yesterday it had received a letter from US regulators about the sale of the drug in the US.
The drug, developed by Pfizer and made by Eli Lilly, is now the first drug approved for marketing in the US.
Pfizer has not commented on the decision. The company did not respond to a request for comment.
Pfizer said it was reviewing its marketing application, which was based on an earlier one for Viagra, but rejected the request to withdraw the drug.
Pfizer is now facing a charge of health and safety issues related to the drug. The US Food and Drug Administration has not approved the drug.
A spokesman for Pfizer said: “Pfizer continues to be committed to a strong regulatory environment and is confident the drug will be approved in the US.
“We have received a letter from the FDA and are committed to the FDA’s rigorous regulatory process and patient safety standards.”
The company said it was reviewing its application for Viagra. The decision was made after the company submitted the drug with the FDA and Pfizer said it would appeal.
The FDA’s review and approval process is designed to ensure that pharmaceutical companies make sure the drug is effective and safe for the patient.
The drug is the first such drug to be marketed in the US.
It is available as an oral tablet, and is available in strengths of 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg.
